Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Maldaba is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Emissions reduction targets
The figures above are calculated using an initial simple carbon calculator. We are unsure of their accuracy. Our commitment this year is to obtain reliable figures using detailed and sophisticated calculators, to start from a reliable baseline figure. See our 3 initiatives, below.
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The major shift in carbon reduction made by Maldaba in recent years is moving to using only carbon negative or carbon neutral server host providers. This is the single largest output of carbon for the business, though further measures will be assessed to make continuous improvements.
In the future we will implement further measures such as:
- Work to gain a more detailed understanding of our carbon calculations, including working with our office supplier to supply more detailed figures on electricity and heat usage, and working with staff to understand work from home carbon.
- Work with our office landlord to encourage a move to a green energy supplier.
- Work with existing service suppliers in scope 3 to become carbon negative.
